In 1984, after finishing school and completing his civil service, Jürgen Jaron, together with Dieter Rein, founded a company that was involved primarily in the distribution of computer peripherals. In the years that followed, the company built up its software activities, which served as the foundation for the business of MAGIX AG today.

With the sale of the hardware business and the formation in 1993 of Magix Technology GmbH, the legal predecessor of MAGIX AG, Jürgen Jaron, as shareholder and managing director of this company, began concentrating on the development of products for the multimedia segment. When the Company was legally reorganized into a German stock corporation in June 2001, Jürgen Jaron became chairman of the MAGIX AG Management Board. He also serves as the managing director of MAGIX AG's subsidiaries in France, Great Britain, Italy, and Taiwan as well as mufin GmbH in Berlin.

In 1980, after finishing school and completing his training as a certified chemical technician (Chemietechniker), Dieter Rein worked as distribution manager for a company involved in the manufacturing and distribution of data storage products and other capital equipment. In 1984, together with Jürgen Jaron, he founded a company that was involved primarily in the distribution of computer peripherals. In the years that followed, the company built up its software activities, which served as the foundation for the business of MAGIX AG today.

In 1985, as shareholder and managing director, Dieter Rein began concentrating on the distribution of the products of this company and - beginning in 1993 - those of Magix Technology GmbH.

When the Company was legally reorganized into a German stock corporation in June 2001, Dieter Rein became member of the MAGIX AG Management Board.

Vita

After finishing school, Tilman Herberger studied information technology in Dresden from 1986 to 1989. Even at that time, he worked on music software and electronic sound generation. After completing his engineering degree (Diplom-Ingenieur), he worked from 1990 to 1993 as a research assistant at the Dresden University Conservatory of Music (Dresdner Musikhochschule). From 1994 to 1997 he, together with Titus Tost, built up a company, which was involved in the development of audio software for professional applications in sound studios and which developed corresponding products for Magix Technology GmbH for the mass market.

Since 1997, Tilman Herberger has been a managing director of Magix Entertainment Products GmbH, and since its legal reorganization into a German stock corporation in June 2001, he has been a member of the Management Board of MAGIX AG. Tilman Herberger has also been managing director of MAGIX Software GmbH (formerly MAGIX Development GmbH) since September 1998.
